About Me
I’m DJ Marco Polo, born and raised in Houston, Texas, where my love for music and entertainment took root. I pursued my passion for communication by earning a degree from Texas Southern University, a proud HBCU. My journey in the music world began in the 1990s when I started DJing at house and college parties. This experience led me to spend four incredible years as an on-air personality on Houston’s iconic radio stations, 97.9 The Box and Magic 102. These formative years allowed me to cultivate a deep understanding of how music can connect with people and set the tone for any occasion.
In 2003, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I shifted my focus to the corporate world. However, my passion for music never wavered. Despite stepping away from radio nearly 25 years ago, I found myself consistently drawn to DJ booths at bars, nightclubs, and social events, where I would eagerly study the DJs’ techniques, music selections, and equipment setups.
